EVEN A CAVEMAN CAN RUN A NIGHTCLUB!

It doesn't take a College Degree to run a Nightclub, it takes CHUTZPAH.
You have to know when, why, how, what, where and who before you
can pack your Club with QUALITY PATRONS and not TRASH.
You have to know when to present the Prime Promotions. ?
You have to know why your operating in the format you currently are ?
You have to know how to reach your core market & additional potential
clubbers. ?
You have to know what your doing, by planning, by strategy, by
implementation. ?
You have to know where to target your advertising to create the biggest
impact. ?
You have to know who you want to invite, lure, entice to your establishment?
Far too many Owners rely on their general managers, which is a monumental
mistake.
Far too many Owners depend on their radio salesperson to show them the way,
the radio salesperson is only interested in one objective, "THE BUY", how
much are you
going to spend?
Far too many Owners make deals with the "DEVIL" an inexperienced, no
knowledge
Club Promoter who is full of vinegar, but has no clue, no grasp, no
experience in
promoting, but desperate/despair Owners allow these nobody's to represent
their
club by passing out flyers ( what a waste of time, energy and money) for
some
DJ, for drink specials, for nothing that the Club, Bar, Lounge Owner
themselves
could not do.
With the way many Owners operate their clubs, even a "Caveman" could run
their
establishment.
I am presently working with a young club marketing/promotions/responsible
for
packing this bar Man, who will be a huge success, because first he is
learning from
the BEST, now this young Man has the ability to absorb, to comprehend to ask
questions
to learn by example, to do exactly what I say and he is building this club
back from the
dead to a powerful Lounge.
But, he is a rare find, he is the exception to the rule, because he is not
an ego driven,
know it all.
I recall when I was marketing the biggest club on South Beach, "AMNESIA" the
DJ behind the wheels of steel was one of SOBE's top DJ's, I mean highly
acclaimed.
I thought he was horrible, the club would be packed and the dance floor
empty, with his house/international/original mixes, which were hideous.
So, I asked the rest of Management to give him Thursday Nights off, and I
went and hired
a 19 year old young Man who was eager, thirsty, willing, motivated to spin
what the clubbers wanted and not what he thought they needed to hear.
We packed the dance floor, the kid was awesome, he spun, he mixed, he cut,
he was RAW and
he dressed the part, he was polite to clubbers, he was in on and over the
dance floor, he was
phenomenal.

The difference between how I think and most Owners do is simple, they talk
about it, ask everyone what to do, think about it, dwell on it,
procrastinate.
Me, I do it. I make it happen. I create it, I generate it, I customize it, I
have zero time to waste.
While they are still contemplating, I am incorporating into the format what
is so obviously missing.
Club Owners tell me every week, "You know why I like you? Because you tell
it like it is and you know exactly what it is".
I could not ask for a greater compliment.
If your an Owner why are you not at your Club, your Bar, your Lounge every
night?
And then you wonder why the establishment is not making money?
Why did you even open the place?
Why did you even buy the place?
I regret to say far too many Managers and General Managers have no clue how
to pack a room?
They have no idea what marketing means other than flyers and radio?
They cannot handle any decisions other than what hot women to hire.
When it comes to the nuts and bolts of the day to day operation they flunk.
The worse States to own, operate Clubs, Bars, Lounges,
in right now are Ohio, Wisconsin,
Texas, Illinois, Michigan, and Connecticut, they in addition to Hawaii have
no clue what to do?
They give the house away every night, they waive the cover charge every
night, they waste
money on Clear Channel every week and they are
dying.....................................................
